I’ve done my fair share of academic work in medicine to become a doctor.
As a doctor, you can be pretty involved in your work life. I met Hemalee Patel first as a colleague, but the one thing that brought us together were our common interests outside of the daily work. We both believe strongly that we can bring individuality and creative expression to our clinical practice.
We started talking about these things — both of us are really into style and wellness — and we decided to start Beneath the White Coat, our reset. We want to create content that focuses on the different ways of bringing creative expression to your workplace and to your daily life as a physician.
We see the concept playing out as both a blog/site that serves as a resource for ideas and as a way to build a community of doctors who are interested in sharing the things that we do creatively and learning from it.
