A deliberate shift in my perspective sparked my reset.
Twenty years ago, I reset every aspect of my life by making the decision to never again speak about – and therefore direct my creative energy toward – unwanted circumstances or outcomes.
Our perspective creates our reality, and when we experience a shift in perspective, our experience of reality changes. Focusing on what went wrong; what wasn’t to my liking or on what I felt was missing only enhanced my experience of dissatisfaction. By deliberately looking for the positive aspects in every person or situation, I reset my perspective and began recognizing choices and opportunities that were always available, but which I had previously missed.
What we believe, we will find evidence to support, and what we look for, we tend to find. When I made the decision to look for, appreciate, and speak only of the aspects of life that thrilled me, I was rewarded with a richer and more fulfilling life.
