On day six of our evacuation from the Northern California wildfires, living in a town an hour from home with wonderful accommodations (thanks to family) and taking care of my 94-year-old mom in the process, I am grateful.

  • I am grateful for the firefighting teams who came from all over the world and are working 24 hour shifts to save our little town of Sonoma Valley, including our home.
  • I am grateful to my kids who live across the country but have been emotionally beside us throughout.
  • I am especially grateful to my circle of friends who communicate constantly, with vital info and great humor.
  • I am deeply grateful to my husband for being calm and strong, and to my mom who is a trooper.

My reset? Our belongings and stuff are just not an issue.
