I was 39, single, career focused and fresh off a divorce. I thought I would never have children of my own. Then I unexpectedly became pregnant. I started resetting my priorities, making decisions before my baby was born that put her first. It will continue with how I redefine what balance looks like as a single working mother. I’m grateful for the opportunity to become a mom, reshaping my diet for a healthy pregnancy, rearranging my home to make space for her and reevaluating my relationship with her father to go from a fairly casual relationship to defining how we will carry forward as partners and parents to our little girl. She is my whole world now and I’m welcoming this reset with open arms.
