I try to reset everyday. I can point to a physical reset about four-and-a-half years ago when I moved from the U.S. to New Zealand.

I moved to a placed whose values were perhaps more aligned with mine. Also a place where my children could walk to school.

I left behind noise, traffic, rushing and most of all consumerism. But the biggest thing I left behind was a place that appeared to value money above anything else in life. Material things and money are important, as I have five dependents in my family including three kids, but we are living without the need for or thought of constant consumerism.
