In 2006, my family had been considering moving to London for a year so that my kids could experience something different. As I started to look at schools, places to live, etc., it dawned on me — why don’t we just go everywhere for a year? What’s so different about a year in say, London?

I packed everyone up, recruited two friends that were school teachers and took off. We traveled around the world for 312 days and saw 32 countries. It was the most incredible experience of my life. We are all still affected by the things we saw and the people we met. It was magic.
