I started my business in 2010 in my bedroom. I have three kids and they were getting older. My youngest was going into kindergarten and I was looking for something to do. I had a closet full of jeans — I wear a lot of denim but I can never find the right tops to wear. The tops that I liked were getting pricier and pricier. I told my husband, I’m going to start my own business. He said go for it. Living in New York, I just asked everyone I knew in the garment business for help. One thing led to another and I learned how to make a few tops. I met up with a great pattern maker and someone told me where to buy fabrics. I started with six sexy tops and one dress. That’s how I found my groove and my business and for the first three years I worked from my apartment.
