After 13 years working 80 hours weeks in corporate jobs in New York, I did a major reset when I moved across the country to San Francisco, got married and decided to be a full-time author and writer. Like so many New Yorkers who developed love/hate relationships with the city, I had harbored fantasies of the idyllic life I would lead somewhere else, anywhere else. And yet, leaving the city, my life and the busy career track that defined me ended up being one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’m still figuring it out. My life in the Bay Area wasn’t idyllic and perfect right off the bat. But it gets better every day.
